[The ʻUmar Falke collection]. [1800-1900]

Library of Kano trader, local scholar and author ʻUmar Falke [b.] Abi Bakr (1893-1962). The collection contains books and manuscripts on all aspects of Islamic learning, protective medicine, and the secret arts (asrar). 40% Nigerian authors, 60% authors from other areas of the Muslim world, mainly North Africa and Egypt. 90% are original manuscripts, 10% are market or printed editions.
